Polyester is the most ubiquitous fibre for textiles and over the years became the staple ingredient for all applications from couture to fast fashion and from sportswear to high-tech wear and from bedding to home furnishings due to its unique properties that goes either as a single fibre or as a blend with natural or other fibres.

Polyester is expected to grow at the highest rate among all major fibres in the world due to its versatility in all applications and blendability with other fibres and in India it is expected to grow even at a much faster rate backed by government policies to promote MMF in the country.

Factors such as changing consumer trends including increasing emphasis on fitness and hygiene, fast changing fashion trends, increasing women participation in workforce will further boost the demand of polyester fibre in India.

Polyester share in total fibre basket is low in India compared to Global level and is fast catching up in line with Global trend. Share of polyester in the MMF basket is above 75% at the mill level both in India and globally, indicating the importance of polyester in the textile industry.

Reliance has unique advantage of presence in entire Polyester Value Chain and thus creating ‘Integration Advantage’ having facilities of downstream value chain products (Yarn, Fabric and garmenting) and thus fulfilling the ‘5F Vision’ of our Hon’ble Prime Minister – Farm to Fibre to Factory to Fashion to Foreign.
