The State government, according to Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai, is planning to establish giant textile parks in several regions of the state, including Haveri district.
Mr. Bommai told a press conference in Haveri on Saturday that plans for a park in Shiggaon were already in the works. He also stated that efforts will be made to promote textile industries in Byadgi, Hirekerur, and Ranebennur.
He said that of the total targeted supply of 1 crore doses of vaccine for Karnataka, 84 lakh doses had already been supplied. The Chief Minister also said that a digitisation programme would also be taken up extensively as it would bring about a significant change in the government’s functioning.
Chilli and mango cultivation and related industries will be promoted in Haveri district under the ‘one district, one product’ project, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has said. The focus is on improving the farmers’ lives by doubling their farm income, he said. He said steps are being taken for establishing an industrial township, spread over 1,000 acres, on the outskirts of Haveris city.
Karnataka Chief Minister Haveri Bommai has said that an era of development has begun in the district and projects under the Upper Tunga Project will be completed in a year. Several Kannadigas stuck in Afghanistan have been safely evacuated and brought back, he said. There was demand for establishing district central cooperative banks in five-six districts and the issue had already been raised with authorities concerned.
