PDEXCIL Celebrates 27 Years …

“I am very happy to inform that today Powerloom Development & Export Promotion Council (PDEXCIL) has completed its 27 years of establishment. Today on its 27th foundation day, PDEXCIL has gained another year of brilliance towards working in the field of powerloom” Mr. M. A. Ramasamy, Chairman, PDEXCIL said.

The council was set up by Ministry of Textiles, Govt. of India in the year 1995 with an objective of developing the powerloom sector of India and promoting export of powerloom products. PDEXCIL is having its headquarter at Mumbai, Maharashtra and regional office at Erode, Tamil Nadu and Delhi. PDEXCIL have about 2000 members, manufacturers/trader and/or exporter of powerloom products from all over India covering all major powerloom clusters like, Bhiwandi, Ichalkaranji, Solapur, Surat, Ahmedabad, Erode, Karur, Sirsilla, Guntur, Belgaum, Bengaluru, Punjab, Haryana, J&K, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh etc.

“The powerloom sector of India has come a long way. Today, there are about 25 lakh powerlooms in India, providing employment to about 6.3 million workers and day by day the number of shuttleless looms are increasing, which is a good sign of development in the sector, as technology plays a vital role in the growth of any industry. With the support of Government of India through its various Ministries such as Ministry of Textiles, Commerce and Industry and Finance, powerloom sector will be able to increase its share from US$ 9.3 billion to about US$ 11 billion in 2022-2023 out if the target allotted to our sector.” Chairman, PDEXCIL said.

“With continuous support of its members from all over India, the future growth of PDEXCIL will surely reach heights” It will help the council to make maximum contribution towards the growth of textile industry.
