Prime Minister Modi is set to inaugurate the “Utkarsh Odisha – Make in Odisha Conclave 2025” this Tuesday, a two-day event poised to highlight the state’s burgeoning industrial landscape, with a particular focus on textiles and related sectors. The state government anticipates attracting substantial investment, potentially reaching ₹5 lakh crore, during the conclave. The Prime Minister will also open the Make in Odisha exhibition, a showcase of the state’s advancements in creating a thriving industrial ecosystem.

This major event will bring together industry leaders, investors, and policymakers to explore Odisha’s potential as a prime investment destination. The conclave aims to foster discussions on opportunities across diverse sectors, including textiles, with a special emphasis on innovation and sustainable practices.

Around 7,500 delegates from 17 countries are expected to attend. Singapore, Australia, and Malaysia will play leading roles in discussions and collaborations.

Representatives from Vietnam, Zimbabwe, Kazakhstan, Venezuela, the United Kingdom, the United States, and Nepal will also attend. State industries minister Sampad Chandra Swain emphasized the historic significance of the conclave, noting that while traditional metal and mineral sectors remain important, the state is actively promoting investment in emerging areas like renewable energy, green hydrogen, semiconductors, and textiles. These sectors are expected to create significant employment opportunities for the local population. The focus on textiles is anticipated to highlight Odisha’s rich heritage and craftsmanship, while also exploring new technologies and market opportunities within the industry.
