Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi proclaimed Odisha as a burgeoning hub of opportunities and a driving force for the nation, particularly in Eastern India, during the recent Utkarsh Odisha: Make in Odisha Conclave 2025. Expressing gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his ongoing support and presence at the event, Majhi emphasized that such engagement instils confidence among investors and the business community.

Highlighting the state’s vast resources, connectivity, and skilled workforce, the Chief Minister noted that recent trips to cities like Delhi, Mumbai, and Singapore have yielded significant results. His efforts culminated in the signing of eight Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with leading Singaporean firms, showcasing Odisha’s potential on a global stage.
Majhi acknowledged the competitive landscape among states vying for investment but assured investors that the Odisha government is committed to facilitating their ventures.

The Chief Minister outlined several initiatives aimed at industrial growth, including the establishment of plug-and-play industrial parks and sector-specific parks for technical textiles, food processing, aluminium, and MSMEs across all 30 districts. He stressed the importance of ensuring that industrialization benefits even the most underserved regions like Malkangiri, Rayagada, and Keonjhar.

Majhi called for investments in diverse sectors such as chemicals, petrochemicals, green hydrogen, IT services, textiles, pharmaceuticals, and metal downstream industries. He also highlighted ongoing training programs aimed at equipping youth with skills relevant to emerging industries like semiconductors and advanced manufacturing.

The conclave has already seen impressive investment proposals amounting to Rs 16.73 lakh crore across 593 industrial projects, with the potential to create nearly 12.88 lakh jobs. This marks a significant increase from previous investment intents received during earlier summits.

As Odisha positions itself as a key player in India’s economic landscape, the Chief Minister’s vision aligns with PM Modi’s broader aspirations for ‘Purvodaya,’ aiming to transform Eastern India into a major growth engine for the country. The collaborative efforts between state leadership and investors are set to pave the way for sustainable development and job creation in the region.
