Shri Sanjay Garg, President NITMA expressed his inmost appreciation towards the government’s decision of revoking the anti-dumping duty ( ADD ) on Viscose Staple Fibre ( VSF ), originating in or exported from People’s Republic of China and Indonesia and imported into India, as notified by Ministry of Finance vide its notification no.44/2021-Customs(ADD) dt. 12.08.2021. The Same was recommended by Directorate General of Trade Remedies vide its notification dt.31.07.2021.
He expressed profound gratitude to The Hon’ble Minister for Finance, Smt. Nirmala Sitharaman & The Hon’ble Minister for Textiles & Commerce & Industry, Shri. Piyush Goyal for providing a level playing field to the domestic industry.
Shri Garg ,in his closing remark, added that the down-stream domestic industry, such as weaving & Garmenting, will be substantially benefitted due to accessibility of fibre at competitive prices, empowering them to produce & export the viscose based products at globally competitive prices.
