Building on the success of its first edition, the French National Leather Council (CNC) confirmed preparations are underway for the second edition of the Sustainable Leather Forum, to be held on September 14 in Paris.
About 300 leather professionals attended the inaugural edition of the Sustainable Leather Forum which was held in September 2019. around 30 French and international speakers, representing a diverse panel of companies, from SMEs to large groups, as well as international institutions such as the European Commission, the United Nations and the OECD discussed the topic. The CNC said it is, once again, bringing together professionals from across the leather supply chain, including from the footwear, gloving/garment and leather goods segments at the headquarters of the Economic, Social and Environmental Council of France (CESE) in Paris on September 14. “This will be the opportunity for leather sector professionals to discuss the impact and the evolutions in CSR from a social, environmental and economic perspective and offer a first assessment of the progress made by all professions in achieving CSR goals”, said the CNC. Topics on this year’s agenda will include consumer protection, animal welfare and the circular economy. Round tables and talks will be organised around the quality of finished goods, innovation and best practices in the sector.
