The British luxury car manufacturer said that production of the recently unveiled Bentayga has started at its carbon neutral factory located in Crewe, English county of Cheshire.
Bentley said deliveries of the Bentayga are to commence soon, with customers in Europe being the first to experience the luxury SUV. The manufacturer said production output has been increased from 50% to 100% since the social distancing measures for employees have been put in place, with assembly areas redesigned for a safer working environment. “What we are seeing at the start of production is a car that is significantly revised, both inside and out, and yet reaching record quality in manufacture levels across the industry. Raising the bar again as the sector-defining luxury SUV”, said Peter Bosch, Member of the Board for Manufacturing, Bentley Motors.
The Bentayga, the first car launched under Bentley’s ‘Beyond 100’ business plan, is expected to build on the success of its predecessor, which sold 20,000 units globally. Changes in the Bentayga interior include a new centre fascia and steering wheel, new door trims and new seats, which are now available with ventilation in the rear of the five-seat cabin option.
