Leather goods production of Prada resumes in Tuscany

On April 20 Italian luxury fashion Group has partially reopened its leather goods industrial sites in Tuscany.

At its Arezzo premises, Prada said it has recalled around 300 employees to work in the leather goods, apparel and footwear departments. reopening was communicated to the local authorities in advance and involves the prototyping and sample-making departments for developing the company’s forthcoming collections. Collection and sample-making workshops in the Milan headquarters were started in factories of Umbria, Marche and Veneto by partial reopening.

“This return to work coincided with the implementation of a full range of measures to protect against infection from COVID-19, with meticulous precautions taken to safeguard the health of employees”, said Prada in a statement, adding that a team of specialist nurses are to carry out serological testing on all employees, with those testing positive to receive a viral test, conducted on the premises. Prada’s entire workforce is to receive serological testing on a monthly basis, “with no end date” currently set for the screening programme.
