British luxury footwear retailer Fairfax & Favor has reported a 300% rise in sales during the coronavirus lockdown.

While sales across the luxury retail sector have declined 60% over the first six months of 2020, Fairfax & Favor has bucked the downward trend and experienced a sales boom online despite the impact of the closure of its retail store, wholesale channels and the cancellation of trade shows. The brand, which was founded in 2013, sells luxury leather goods such as footwear, handbags and leather accessories.

Rob Cooper, the brand’s head of operations, attributes the spike to consumers swapping big ticket items such as holidays for luxury shoes and leather goods, as well as maintaining high levels of customer service, including next day delivery for online orders during lockdown. Fairfax and Favor’s current top selling product is the Brancaster Sandal, which has seen a 320% increase in orders during lockdown.
