Shri Narayan Rane, Minister of MSME, today inaugurated Khadi’s two new exclusive product lines – Khadi cotton babywear and distinctive Khadi handcrafted paper slippers – at Khadi India’s flagship store in New Delhi’s Connaught Place.
Khadi has introduced sleeveless vests, frocks, and diapers for infants and babies up to 2 years old. Khadi’s handmade paper “use & discard” slippers are both eco-friendly and affordable. The organisation created the new items for the first time in India. Jhablas and bloomers were also introduced as the company’s first cotton apparel for newborns.
Khadi cotton babywear is consistently priced at Rs 599 each item, whereas handmade paper slippers are only Rs 50 per pair. The two new items are available for purchase at the Khadi store in Connaught Place, as well as through the KVIC’s internet site, www.khadiindia.gov.in. Shri Rane emphasised aggressive promotion of eco-friendly and sustainable products when releasing the new Khadi items.
