for providing strong backward integration of woven fabric supply
We are pleased to announce that the MoU being signed between ITAMMA & FAAMA on Virtual platform @ 7.15 pm IST during the AGM of FAAMA at Jetwing Colombo 7.
Fabric & Apparel Accessory Manufacturers’ Association (FAAMA) is a key stakeholder in the apparel industry, representing over thirty leading fabric, apparel and accessory manufacturers in Sri Lanka.
It is noticed that most of the Textile Entrepreneurs/ businesses at Srilanka are of Garment Industry following the purchasing of yarns from various countries and processing the same on Circular/flat Knitting machines. Thus, there is a wide scope of installing weaving capacities and to create a potential alternative of woven fabric to Garment products such as curtains, bedsheets, etc. viz home –textiles. This will also help this industry to enter into manufacturing of technical textile products in future.
Through this MoU, ITAMMA jointly with FAAMA will be developing a “Weaving Plant Project model” especially for Sri Lankan Garment Industry as a strong backward integration providing in-house stream of woven fabric supply for this Industry
