Minister Piyush Goyal Meets Prominent Textile exporters of the country in the capital

On 3rd september 2021, Minister of Textiles Piyush Goyal and MOS Smt .Darshana Jardosh  called a meeting of Prominent exporters of Textile Industry at New Delhi .

Lot of suggestions from industry and councils were taken into consideration by the Minister himself .
Shri Harsh Haria of Navkar Group Bhiwandi ,  who is also COA member of Pdexcil set up by the ministry of textiles has given suggestions to boost Powerloom  textile clusters like Bhiwandi , Ichalkaranji , Malegaon , Erode ,Surat and help to start exports by creating world class exhibitions in India ,so small clusters can participate and reach the world .
Mr.Bhadresh Dodhia of Dodhia group and vice chairman of Srtepc suggested to focus on sustainability and MMF yarns as it is the future of textiles in the world .
Minister Piyush Goyal has asked the industry to set an aim to increase textiles exports three times from present export value of $33 billion to $100 billion of textiles exports.
The Centre, on its part, has rolled out measures to help the industry. Recently, new rates were announced under the Rebate on Duties and Taxes on Export Products (RoDTEP) scheme.
According to the new rates, RoDTEP extended an incentive of 2.5 per cent to 4.5 per cent on the export of yarn and fabrics of different kinds.
Piyush Goyal said that his Ministry is working closely with Ministry of Finance to resolve the issue of old dues on incentives for exporters. Mr. Goyal said that PLI Scheme for Textiles and Mega Investment Textiles Parks, MITRA Parks Scheme is at advance stage of approval.        Also He said, the government is always open to consider all industry requirements.
