MIC Spa: an Italian company with a wide international scope

MIC Spa is a manufacturer of sewing threads with roots in the Italian textile tradition of the ‘900. The headquarters are in Vallese di Oppeano, in the Verona area (north of Italy) and it also specialized in the leather, footwear and furniture industry, expanding its range and offering articles with special features for sectors whose uniqueness requires specific solutions.

The desire to experiment and innovate has always led the Company to seize the opportunities of  globalization that have invested the textile industry since the 1990s, engaging in a project of internationalization that has proved successful. This in fact has allowed MIC Spa to expand its horizons and territorial borders by embracing new reference markets and boasting subsidiaries in Romania, Albania and Tunisia, a production site in Egypt and warehouses and retailers throughout Europe and North Africa, with importers and distributors in Bulgaria, Poland and Morocco, thus bringing the product closer to the garment producing areas (denim zone North Africa and luxury clothing Eastern Europe) of some customers and achieving 25% of its turnover with exports.

Resistance, aesthetic and softness of sewing threads are essential features, and for this reason at  MIC Spa is available a wide range of options in multiple raw materials and variants for all applications and manufacture. The foreign commercial branches, equipped with warehouses, sales force and logistics, are connected with the Italian operating system. The machines used are state of the art and fast and allow excellent success in terms of quality and timing, key to growth in a competitive market such as textiles.

Another important aspect concerns sustainability. Manifattura Italiana Cucirini has decided to  move towards an increasingly sustainable approach, becoming one of the major players in the green transition by adhering to the 4sustainability roadmap. A real path towards sustainability that will allow it to be increasingly compliant with MRSL ZDHC and on specific SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals), ensuring better wastewater quality, a reduction in water and energy consumption and a reduction in CO2 emissions into the atmosphere, improving partnerships with specialized companies by offering the market yarns made from GRS certified post-consumer recycled polyester, yarns with fibers derived from wood from controlled forests, biodegradable  nylon yarn and GOTS certified organic cotton yarn. It is precisely in terms of certifications both in the branch in Romania and in Tunisia that he obtained certification for the GRS.
