Frankfurt, 12 August 2024 – Strong participation from VDMA member firms is expected at CAITME, which is scheduled to take place in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, from September 11th to 14th. There will be about 25 VDMA members present at the event. 13 businesses, organized by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action and started by VDMA, will be exhibiting in the area of the official German Pavilion, which is being held in conjunction with the trade show. These businesses include Brückner Textile Technologies, Erbatech, Georg Sahm, Groz-Beckert, Heusch, KARL MAYER STOLL Textilmaschinenfabrik, KURIS Spezialmaschinen, Lindauer DORNIER, Oerlikon Textile, Stäubli Bayreuth, STC Spinnzwirn, THIES, and Xetma Vollenweider.

VDMA member businesses will display the most cutting-edge technology for the textile industry at CAITME. The businesses that are exhibiting are leading the way, particularly in terms of digitalization and sustainability of industrial processes.

Only China was the largest supplier to the Uzbek textile industry in 2023, with Germany ranking second with shipments of textile machines and accessories valued at 85 million euros. One of the biggest producers and exporters of cotton is Uzbekistan. Uzbekistan already has a completely integrated production chain in place for the cotton industry. The majority of the cotton fiber is spun in the nation. In recent years, the Uzbek government has advanced significant economic changes. Within the manufacturing sector, one of the most popular areas for investment is the textile industry. The textile industry is expanding its capabilities in the downstream production stages of the textile chain, such as fabric making, finishing, and dyeing, in addition to cotton spinning.

“Companies must prioritize technology updates to compete globally in the textile industry,” said Dr. Harald Weber, Managing Director of the VDMA Textile Machinery Association. The Uzbek textile sector and our industry can work together more closely and establish new contacts through CAITME.
