CITI / TEXPROCIL delegation had a meeting with the Hon’ble Union Minister of Finance and Hon’ble Union Minister of Textiles on 18th Sept. 2019 in New Delhi. The delegation briefed about the present crisis being faced by the Indian textile &clothing industry and the urgent policy measures required to revive the industry from the recession and enable it to achieve its potential growth rate. Both the Ministers after giving a patient hearing have advised us to have a joint meeting of all Textile Associations representing the entire textile value chain and come out with a common proposal to enable the Government to act on the same on a fast track.
In this connection, an Interactive Meeting of textile related Export Promotion Councils and National Level Textile Organizations has been scheduled on Saturday, 28th September 2019 at 11.30 a.m. at TEXPROCIL office in Mumbai to prepare common demands of the textile industry and take it up with the Government.
SG CITI has requested such associations to kindly make it convenient to attend the above meeting positively along with office-bearers so that we can work as a team and persuade the Government to take necessary remedial measures shortly.
