The Maharashtra government, facing one of its worst public health crises in recent history in the form of the Covid-19 outbreak, is considering drastic measures like complete stoppage of local suburban train and buses services in key cities such as Mumbai. The government is also planning to ask 50% of its employees to work from home. A complete shutdown of BEST bus services and the suburban train services would bring India’s maximum city and its financial capital to a grinding halt.
