Delhi, New Delhi: Ehasaas Kanjilal, a journalist, producer, and Bong documentary filmmaker, is ready to start filming *The Sacred Skulls*, her second documentary directing project that delves deeply into the enigmatic and intriguing world of Aghoris. On January 14, 2025, during the Maha Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj, the filming will begin in the Maha Snaan.

Ehasaas is eager to explore more unknown stories after the tremendous success of her first documentary, *Red Knots*, which won over 30 prizes both domestically and abroad. *The Sacred Skulls* looks to be an engaging in-depth exploration of the history, beliefs, way of life, and present circumstances of the mysterious Aghori cult.

Ehasaas and her team will travel through important Aghori cultural hubs, such as Varanasi, Haridwar, Devprayag, Rudraprayag, Kamakhya, Kamroop, and the famous Ganga Sagar, beginning with the Maha Kumbh Mela. By connecting historical customs with contemporary realities, the documentary aims to reveal the lesser-known aspects of this esoteric group.

An immersive visual and narrative experience is promised in *The Sacred Skulls*, which is produced by Delhi-based Gaurav Chhabra and his Mumbai-based production company Pragyamatic Films, co-produced by Saurav Chhabra, and starring celebrated actress Tanusree Chakraborty. “This is a spiritual journey as well as a documentary,” Ehasaas stated. “We hope to clarify the misunderstood and frequently misrepresented Aghoris while encapsulating the core of their beliefs and customs through *The Sacred Skulls*.”

Ehasaas is positioned to establish new standards in documentary filmmaking because of his reputation for telling gripping tales that have an international audience. One of the biggest religious assemblies in the world serves as the starting point for the voyage, providing a magnificent setting for this tremendous endeavor.
