Li & Fung Limited, located in Hong Kong, stated today that it is now working with JD.com as part of a strategic investment made by JD.com in 2020.
The collaboration will concentrate on offering end-to-end digital supply chain management services for JD.com’s private brand projects.
JD and Best Home have collaborated to develop a multi-category collection of homeware under the labels ‘Made by JD’ and ‘Best Home.’ They also want to launch a pet product brand called ‘Jingmeng’ in order to get into China’s booming pet care industry. The move will assist to exploit the fast developing consumer-to-manufacturer (C2M) business model in Mainland China.
C2M helps manufacturers to reduce the time from design to customer from the industry average of 40 weeks to as short as 2 weeks, allowing them to deliver high-quality, trend-responsive goods to consumers.
JD.com and Li & Fung have collaborated to develop new private label brands for Chinese customers. According to Wang Xiaosong, Senior Vice President of JD.com’s private brands business, the company’s 3D product design skills and broad product category knowledge would substantially increase its capacity to build private-label brands that online customers accept and trust. It all comes down to offering clients what they want while staying within their budget and moving at a faster speed.
