The Cotton Council International (CCI)-sponsored “U.S. Cotton and the Golden Triangle of Profitability” seminars in Coimbatore, Ludhiana, and Mumbai, India, demonstrated how the use of U.S. cotton enhances mill performance. The seminars were invitation-only, with over 185 mills, brands, retailers, and US cotton merchants in attendance. In 2021, more than 7.5 million bales of cotton were consumed by the textile mills present at the events. The COTTON USA SOLUTIONS team’s experts gave three presentations: a tutorial on spinning finer yarn counts using American Upland cotton, a recent analysis of American cotton’s dye uptake in comparison to cotton from other countries, and a demonstration of preventative clearance for staple yarns.
Due to continuous interruptions in global logistics, representatives from ACSA and AMCOT gave outlooks for the global and American cotton industries as well as the transportation scenario for cotton in the United States. The seminars came to an end with a panel discussion titled “COTTON: Now and Beyond,” during which the audience gained more knowledge about the state of Indian cotton production now and what lies ahead for the sector.
After attending the seminars, 23 companies expressed interest in scheduling a consultation with a Cotton USA SolutionsTM mill expert, and one textile mill became a member of the U.S. Cotton Trust Protocol.96% of attendees in post-event surveys expressed satisfaction with the seminars, and 98% said they would suggest COTTON USA events to their colleagues in the future. In the meantime, 94% anticipate buying American cotton in the upcoming year.
