Mumbai, Maharashtra, India

John Cockerill, a world leader in industrial engineering, is thrilled to announce that it will be attending METEC India 2024, the premier gathering for the steel casting, metal forming, and metallurgy sectors, which will take place in Mumbai from November 27 to 29. METEC India 2024 will provide John Cockerill with an opportunity to demonstrate its most recent developments in sustainable steelmaking technologies and high efficiency manufacturing solutions, supporting the country’s push for a more resilient and environmentally friendly industrial future as India fortifies its commitment to green steel production in order to meet its ambitious decarbonization goals.

John Cockerill to Showcase Cutting-Edge Technologies at METEC India 2024

John Cockerill is dedicated to revolutionizing the Indian steel sector, and his involvement will showcase cutting-edge technologies that satisfy both the changing demands of Indian steel producers and international regulatory requirements. John Cockerill is committed to helping India achieve its Vision 2047 objectives for a sustainable and energy-efficient steel industry, from E-Si® technologies for electrical steel production to Jet Vapor Deposition (JVD) technology, which makes sustainable coatings possible.

“METEC India 2024 is a tremendous opportunity for us to engage with key players in the Indian steel sector and share our advancements in sustainable steel technologies,” said François-David Martino, CEO of John Cockerill Industry and Chairman of John Cockerill India Limited, in response to the company’s participation in METEC.

Highlighting India’s position as a major producer of steel worldwide,Michael Kotas, John Cockerill India Limited’s managing director “The Indian steel industry is reaching new heights and demonstrating its capacity to accomplish more in the future. METEC India is the perfect venue to show how our innovations can help the country’s steel industry transition to a greener future.

John Cockerill will demonstrate cutting-edge technology at METEC India 2024 that help the country’s steel sector decarbonize and meet the growing needs of the electric vehicle market. Experts will introduce E-Si®, a complete solution made to help steel producers create high-quality electrical steel in a sustainable manner. The purpose of the E-Si® line is to make high-performance electrical steels, which are necessary for the production of effective electric

Key highlights include Jet Vapor Deposition (JVD) technology, a low-emission alternative to traditional galvanizing, which enhances both environmental performance and operational efficiency. This state-of-the-art solution for the coating of metal strip optimizes the quantities of zinc used and thus production costs.

Additionally, John Cockerill will offer a preview of Volteron method for producing steel with a net-zero impact, demonstrating its dedication to sustainability. VolteronTM is a cold direct electrolysis method that uses electricity to remove iron from iron ore without the use of carbon. It is the first industrial-scale low temperature iron electrolysis plant in the world, with plans to begin producing 40,000–80,000 tonnes of iron plates annually in the first phase in 2027.

The John Cockerill team will be available for attendees to interact with and discuss how these technologies enhance production capacity and environmental objectives.

Come to METEC India 2024 with John Cockerill to learn about the future of sustainable steel manufacturing and how cutting-edge technology can help India become a global leader in green steel.
