The Canadian government approved the extradition proceedings against Huawei CFO Meng Wanzhou, related to allegation that Huawei violated US sanctions with Iran.
The same day, Huawei CFO Meng Wanzhou filed a lawsuit in the Supreme Court of British Columbia claiming that her legal rights were violated when she was unlawfully detained at the Vancouver International Airport in December, said Reuters.
The lawsuit says Meng’s rights under Canada’s Charter of Rights were violated when she was detained, questioned and searched by a police officer and boarder officials “under the false pretense of a routine boarder check”. The lawsuit also states Meng suffered “mental distress” from her detention in Canada.
