The Southern Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Sector (SGCCI) will produce a report on the yarn availability issue impacting the local textile industry and deliver it to Union Textile, Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal.
“At the moment, the local textile sector is experiencing certain difficulties as a result of several reasons influencing yarn imports. There is also a need to increase the quality of locally produced yarn, which necessitates the establishment of production units equipped with cutting-edge technology,” said Ashish Gujarati, president of SGCCI.
Along with yarn problems, SGCCI is producing a project report on the construction of a textile common facility centre where producers may access numerous facilities in one location. “In certain situations, a small-scale unit owner lacks the financial resources to install cutting-edge equipment. CFC will have such gear available for unit owners to use,” Gujarati added.
SGCCI will also advocate for the establishment of a dedicated education centre for textile research. “We are working on a report about textile university. All major textile centres throughout the world have world-class textile teaching and research facilities. This will allow us to create new technology domestically rather than having to rely on imports.
