On July 8, Piyush Goyal took over as Minister of Textiles and began evaluating the sector’s operation and performance. Minister Goyal proposed utilising drones to inspect NTC mills in order to safeguard and monitor the CPSU’s property on a regular basis. Such monitoring would allow NTC to take fast action against encroachments in the early stages, making it simpler to remove them from the government-owned company’s premises. Drones can fly at low altitudes while capturing high-resolution images at an economical price.
NTC carried out a trial drone survey and retrieved land mapping of five mills in different locations. Previous maps and pictures from NTC records were compared to the new maps to determine any encroachments or unwanted alterations. NTC authorities discovered that using drones to map its land assets was highly efficient and successful.
