The improved international air services following the second phase of the Covid-19 have proven to be an opportunity for Trichy exporters as demand for textiles in Southeast Asia picks up ahead of the Diwali season.
Despite passenger movement limitations, exporters recently delivered a tonne of clothing to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia via Trichy International Airport.
The export of a tonne of garments from Trichy airport has rejuvenated the hopes of agents and aviation enthusiasts. So far, most of the exports from the airport were perishable commodities such as vegetables and fruits. The MSMEs into food production is equally capitalising on the demand for snacks in the gulf countries.
