WELL-KNOWN BUSINESSMAN, SOCIAL WORKER AND LEADER OF JAIN COMMUNITY SURENDRA SAVAI’S SAD DEMISE

Leading cloth merchant, builder and leader of Jain Community, Surendra Tulsidas Savai passed away on  Tuesday, 15th September 2020 at 11 PM in Mumbai. He was 81 years old.

He was Emirates Chairman of Mumbai Textiles Merchant Mahajan & Federation of Association of Maharashtra (FAM). He had remained President of Mumbai Textile Mechants  Mahajan for 30 years. He was Chairman of  Joint Action Committee of Textile Traders Association of cloth markets. Director of New Piecegoods  Bazar Co. Ltd. He was also Director of The Kalupur Commercial Cooperative Bank Ltd. and Trustee of Mumbai Port Trust.

He was Trustee of Godiji Jain Temple Trust,Pydhonie- Mumbai as well as Motisha Jain Charitable Trust, Byculla-Mumbai,  He was also Trustee of Mangrol & Chorwad Jain Temple Trust & Shrimad Buddhisagar Murtipujak Gurukul Jain Swetambar Sangh.

He has left behind son Ajay, daughter in law Sonal and daughters Smita & Jalpa. There is no prayer meeting kept due to Covid Pandemic but Zoom meeting has been arranged. Mulji  Jetha Cloth Market remain closed  on Wednesday  in his honour.
