In response to the coronavirus outbreak, Shima Seiki released Knitting Data for all machine customers in efforts to provide solutions during the pandemic. Unlike other knitters that modified our data, our friend Lysanne Latulippe from String Theory, based in Montreal, Canada, inspired by the sample decided to develop her own knitting data to create masks for the general public on her SSR knitting machine.

String Theory develops unique textile designs and produces limited knitwear from their Montreal studio. Since 2010 their collections have been distributed throughout Canada and the United States in museum shops and independent boutiques focused on local productions.

*IMPORTANT: These are homemade, non-certified, non-medical masks, intended for general public use. It should be noted that these masks do not have any virus-filtration functionality.

*According to Health Canada, wearing a facial covering/non-medical mask in the community has not been proven to protect the person wearing it and is not a substitute for physical distancing and hand washing. However, it can be an additional measure you can take to protect others around you, even if you have no symptoms.

*You must wash your hands immediately before putting it on and immediately after taking it off, it should fit well and you should not share it with others. Our seam-free mask provides superior fit and comfort. This dual-layer lightweight knit is breathable and super soft.

*Please note that for health and safety reasons, no exchanges or refunds will be allowed for these items. All sales are final.

*She is knitting these comfy masks as she receives your orders. Therefore please allow 5 to 10 days to ship. She offers free shipping via Canada Post. This means she will mail them to you in an envelope, with a simple stamp on it. If you prefer to have a tracking number, please select the expedited option.
