Standard Carpets, the region’s leading manufacturer and supplier of broadloom carpets, carpet tiles, and artificial grass, has broken ground in Dubai Industrial City on a new production factory. When completed in 2023, it will be one of the world’s largest carpet manufacturers and the largest in the area.
The state-of-the-art facility, which spans more than 3 million square feet, will allow Standard Carpets to expand manufacturing capacity by 40% and create an extra 400 tonnes of yarn per month in the first phase of expansion.
Standard Carpets will own and manage one of the world’s largest single-site flooring factories, with a total built-up area of 1.6 million square feet. The development will stimulate industrial activity in the nation and strengthen Dubai’s status as a worldwide trading hub. It will strengthen Operation 300 billion, promote high-quality Made in UAE products, and contribute to GDP development.
The new Standard Carpets plant will be one of the largest all-under-one-roof carpet manufacturers in the world. With in-house yarn extrusion, twisting-cabling, and heat-set capabilities, it will take advantage of the most recent developments in carpet-making equipment and technology. The firm already manufactures over 1,000 flooring items in a variety of quality designs and colours.
Dubai Industrial City is a critical component of the UAE’s goal to increase the industrial sector and strengthen its role in promoting economic growth. It was founded in 2004 and is built around a world-class masterplan that separates the commercial area into major sector-focused zones. More than 750 firms and hundreds of innovative factories use fourth-generation technology.
