SOLVAY, LEONARDO ENTER FIVE-YEAR MATERIAL SUPPLY DEAL

Solvay and Leonardo have entered into a five-year material supply deal for programmes across aerostructures, aircraft, helicopters and electronics divisions. Under the agreement, Solvay will provide a broad range of materials including thermoset composites, thermoplastic composites and adhesives. The two will also collaborate in research and development.

Solvay will provide a broad range of market leading and innovative materials including thermoset composites Cycom 977-2 and Cycom 970, thermoplastic composites APC and APC-2 and Surfacemaster 905 adhesives. In addition to material supply, Solvay will partner with Leonardo in multiple research and development initiatives targeting the development of new materials and process technologies.

With this new agreement we look forward to collaborating with Leonardo as they expand their business in both commercial and defence applications,” said Carmelo Lo Faro, president of Solvay’s Composite Materials Global Business Unit.
