SHEIN is one of the very popular and famous E-commerce retail brands in India. It started being Online and in the E-commerce line but recently SHEIN had opened one of its stores in MUMBAI. Apparently, this Chinese online retail brand is very well known for delivering trendy clothes and stylish garments at a cheap thrift store prices a very long time to your doorstep directly

It had a huge young & millennial crowd as its Target Audience, it had campus ambassadors and etc to promote them and they were doing well off in India Until the INDIA-CHINA border clash happened

The Indian Home Ministry has decided to ban some Chinese apps and software in the country.  The MHA declared a ban on 59 Chinese apps which were suggested by ( IIA) Indian Intelligence Agencies to the government. This is obviously the result of boiling unrest between India and China after the clash at the Line of Actual Control (LAC).

Now, lets’ figure out Why exactly is SHEIN banned?

“The IT Ministry’s statement stated that it had received complaints from various Anonymous sources, which also included some reports about the misuse of some mobile apps available on Android and iOS platforms for stealing and surreptitiously transmitting users data to servers outside India.”

And also…

“The compilation of these data, it’s mining, and profiling by elements hostile to national security and defense of India, which ultimately impinges upon the sovereignty and integrity of India, is a matter of very deep and immediate concern which requires emergency measures,” they stated.

So I guess, we all very Much agree with our Privacy being the utmost priority.

What did SHEIN say After the Bann?

The company said that they are working hard on “preparation and submission of relevant documents required by the Indian Government to comply with the policies”. Stating that customer privacy is its top priority, Shein assured to comply with all security requirements of customers around the world.

Shein also says “We have been invited to meet concerned government stakeholders for an opportunity to respond and submit clarifications. TikTok continues to comply with all data privacy and security requirements under Indian law and has not shared any information of our users in India with any foreign government, including the Chinese government,” the statement reads.

“Further we are requested to in the future we would not do so. We place the highest importance on user privacy and integrity,” they added further.

Well, Let’s see what happens!
