PLI for textiles: The government will set a value-addition standard of 30-60%

According to officials following the issue, the Textile Ministry is considering imposing a minimum value-addition criteria of 60% for garment manufacturing, spinning, and weaving activities, and a lower 30% requirement for processing for industry to qualify for the 10,683-crore Performance Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme for textile products.
Furthermore, PLI beneficiaries will not be permitted to outsource or choose job tasks (receiving a portion of the processing).
