Marcel Beermann to head LANXESS’ Global Procurement and Logistics group function

Cologne – Marcel Beermann (47) will take over as head of the Procurement and Logistics group function at specialty chemicals company LANXESS on June 1, 2020. He succeeds Frederique van Baarle (48), who will become head of the High Performance Materials business unit on the same date. Beermann is currently head of marketing and sales for high-performance plastics in the Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region at LANXESS.

“Over the past one and a half years, Marcel Beermann has been able to further deepen his profound understanding of the markets and players in the chemical industry in a leading position in our operational business. He has done an excellent job here, as he did during his ten years as head of the Mergers & Acquisitions group function. I am very pleased that he can now contribute his extensive know-how to our global purchasing and logistics operations and wish him every success in his new role,” said Hubert Fink, member of the LANXESS Board of Management.

After studying business administration, Marcel Beermann was a member of the corporate finance team at Dresdner Kleinwort Wasserstein (Dresdner Bank AG) where he advised international clients on corporate transactions. He joined LANXESS in 2005. He started in the Mergers & Acquisitions group function, which he headed for over ten years from 2008. At the end of 2018, Beermann moved to the High Performance Materials business unit as head of EMEA Marketing & Sales Engineering Plastics.
