German machine manufacturer presents quality measuring system for nonwovens

Where better to find out about the latest trends in nonwovens production than at Asia’s largest trade fair for nonwovens “SINCE”? From 11 to 13 December 2019, over 500 exhibitors are expecting trade visitors from all over the world. Mahlo GmbH + Co KG will present the latest developments in the field of quality measurement on running webs at booth 1A 26.

“Nonwovens production is also becoming increasingly important in China and throughout Asia,” says Mahlo’s China representative Frank Fei. “We want to support the manufacturers in optimizing their production processes and thus also the end product”. Together with his colleagues, he will present the product range of the German mechanical engineering company. The focus is on the Qualiscan QMS quality measurement system. The modular system, which also comprises sensors and measuring frames, measures, records and controls critical parameters such as basis weight, moisture content or layer thickness over the entire fabric width. Depending on the application and task, different measuring methods are used. The choice includes near-infrared measurement, white light interference or X-ray and beta radiation. Thanks to this broad portfolio, Mahlo offers tailor-made solutions for almost all requirements.

For Fei, the advantages of quality control are obvious: “If critical parameters are systematically controlled and regulated, this results in a higher fabric quality”. This means fewer rejects and less consumption of raw materials. This not only saves time but also money for the customers.
