After more than 6 Indian states invited Kitex Garments to invest in their respective states, now Sri Lanka has also urged this garment manufacturing giant to invest in their country.
D. Venkateshwaran, Sri Lankan Deputy High Commissioner met Sabu Jacob, MD, Kitex Garments at Kitex head office in Kochi and extended an invitation to the company to invest in the island country.
As per a communication from the Kitex Garments, the Sri Lankan official spent about three hours at Kizhakkambalam, near Kochi, to hold discussions with Jacob. He offered all support for the Kerala-based company.
Earlier Bangladesh had also invited Kitex Garments to invest there. Kitex is world’s second largest infant wear manufacturing company.
Notably, after the scrapping of its expansion plan worth Rs. 3,500 crore in Kerala, due to the harassment of the officials, the company had recently announced to invest Rs. 1,000 crore in Telangana.
Offering better facilities, a delegation from the Madhya Pradesh industries department visited Kitex last week.
