Interweave Textiles, located in West Yorkshire, has purchased a Hull-based maker of healthcare and emergency services supplies.
Orvecare has created a line of low-cost items to help with patient and clinician safety, backed by the knowledge of more than 40 years of manufacturing experience and the assistance of qualified physicians.
Its products include the patented passive warming blanket Orvewrap+, which has been tested in NHS hospitals under clinical evaluation.
Orvecare created a production method to manufacture Type IIR face masks on-site in Hull during the peak of the Covid epidemic in 2020. The purchase of the UK PPE production plant will allow Elland-based Interweave to offer this product line to NHS Trusts and other healthcare facilities in bigger volumes and with more consistent supply.
Interweave Textiles general manager Charlie Benson stated, “This is a really positive purchase for our business, with significant synergies in terms of product area and client base.”
Interweave will retain Orvecare’s production and sales capabilities in the United Kingdom and China, while all order processing and account management will be handled in-house at Interweave’s Ellington facility.
