Sewtech Fashion of India inked an agreement with Bangladesh Export Processing Zones Authority (Bepza) yesterday to spend $9.26 million in the Chattogram Export Processing Zone to build a readymade garments manufacturing plant.
According to a press release, Mohammad Faruque Alam, member (engineering) of Bepza, and Balagi Pavadai, director of Sewtech Fashion, inked the deal at the Bepza compound in Dhaka.
Sewtech Fashion, a subsidiary of one of India’s leading garment manufacturers, Shahi Exports Pvt, would create 3.36 million woven tops for women, children, and men per year. This will result in job opportunities.
