Huntsman Bags Award for CSR Excellence

~ Recognised by the Federation of Gujarat Industries (FGI) for its Corporate Social Responsibility program focusing on furthering education, skill development and livelihood in rural areas~

Vadodara, India, February 8, 2020: Huntsman, the global manufacturer and marketer of differentiated chemicals, was conferred with an award by the Federation of Gujarat Industries (FGI) for its outstanding contribution in the field of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). The award was presented to the Huntsman Textile Effects Baroda plant for its distinguished initiatives focusing on creation of livelihood through agriculture and animal husbandry, holistic education, and skill development in Luna and Umraya villages.

Upon receiving the award, Rajib Kumar, HR Head – India Subcontinent, Huntsman Corporation, said “Furthering community welfare and enriching lives has always been an integral part of our vision. On this occasion, we thank the Federation of Gujarat Industries for recognizing the work we have done in the areas of education, skilling, and livelihood. This accolade reinforces Huntsman’s drive for holistic development and empowering communities while co-existing with them.”

Rayomand Sabawalla, Head – India Community Program, Huntsman India, said, “This award is a testament to our efforts in working towards the upliftment of local communities. We shall continue to build on our programs focusing on agriculture and animal husbandry to further enhance livelihood and income generation, while also providing children with access to quality education.”

Over the last three years, Huntsman has been working towards enhancing the income of farmers through sustainable agriculture and animal husbandry projects, uplifting women dairy farmers through livestock management, and facilitating quality education and skill development for Luna and Umraya villages. The project has so far helped over 200 farmers, 150 women dairy workers, and 1200 school students from rural areas.

The award was conferred by Mr. Yogesh Patel, MLA, Vadodara in the presence of various dignitaries of the fraternity at the Ramanbhai Amin Auditorium, FGI Business Center in Vadodara.

In the past, Huntsman has been recognized with the CSR Excellence Jury Award at the 2018 Gujrat Summit and the Antyodaya CSR Award by the Maharaja Sayajirao University, Baroda for its Corporate Social Responsibility initiative, ‘Anandi’.
