Wild West of Myrtle Beach is expanding its operations, building a warehouse in Loris that will employ 40 workers, according to state and county officials on Wednesday.
Wild West will build a 50,000-square-foot distribution hub in Loris. Horry County is projected to receive a $2.5 million investment as a result of the transfer. For the past 25 years, the firm has offered leather boots, coats, and other Western-style clothing in Horry. Wild West might get up to $100,000 to help with the capital expenditures of the transfer.
Wild Westwood, situated in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, must complete its build-out within five years and then be open for at least another two years in order to keep the money. If the firm recruits 20 of the projected 40 employees and completes half of its investment, Horry County will provide an extra $50,000 in cost offsets. The county will pay the additional $25,000 once the firm recruits the remaining 20 workers and completes its commitment.
Members of the Horry County Council have to vote to adopt the Llama incentive package. “I’m just delighted because they’ve been in our neighbourhood for a long time,” adds the councillor. Over the course of the seven-year contract that includes the incentives, the firm is anticipated to contribute about $264,000 in taxes to Horry County.
