Gildan is one of the world’s leading producers of daily basic clothing. The Cotton Trust Protocol in the United States is a farm-level, science-based initiative that establishes a new standard for more sustainably farmed cotton. It introduces quantitative and verifiable goals and criteria for sustainable cotton production, as well as continual development in six key sustainability parameters. The Protocol Credit Management System will also give members complete supply chain transparency.

Gildan has joined the U.S. Cotton Trust Protocol, a network of firms dedicated to manufacturing environmentally friendly and ethical clothing. Gildan will give third-party validated guarantees that its field-to-mill supply chain is obtaining ethically produced, high-quality fibre while lowering environmental and social risk. The firm is also a member of the Sustainable Apparel Coalition, Cotton 2025, Cotton 2040, and Cotton Up.
