2. The 42nd International Hot Air Balloon Festival (Jan 25- Feb 2, 2020)
The small village of Chateaux d’oex in the Vaudois alps hosts the exciting and much looked-forward to Hot Air balloon festival every year. Hordes of tourist’s head to this quaint village to be able to experience and view the beauty of Switzerland from up above. This year, more than 70 hot-air balloons in a variety of shapes and sizes from different countries will participate in the 42nd edition of this festival. The stunning ‘Night Glow’ event after dark and Wednesday afternoons specially dedicated to children with plenty of snacks and animation to entertain them make this festival loved by all ages. Floating through the snow-covered peaks of Grand-Combin, the Matterhorn and the Bernese Alps, surrounded by the silence and stillness of nature, will make this experience a deeply personal one.
