According to BSS, an export subsidy of 50% jute in any product would be available at the stipulated rate.
On Thursday, the Bangladesh Bank (BB) issued a circular to that effect.
According to the circular, if more than 50% of the value of jute goods is utilised in products other than jute finishing products (Hesian, Seking, and CBC) and jute yarn (yarn and twine), the product is classified as a varied jute product.
The subsidy applicant must have a current licence under the Jute Act, 2017, in all circumstances, according to the circular.
