EU Ambassador and BGMEA President discuss trade issues

The newly-elected President of the apex garment makers’ body in Bangladesh, the Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA), Faruque Hassan discussed trade issues with the European Union Ambassador to Bangladesh Rensje Teerink, recently.
According to media reports, the discussion between the two pertaining to trade issues including ways to strengthen EU-Bangladesh partnership, sustainability and further cooperation between EU and Bangladesh for development of the industry took place when the EU Ambassador paid a courtesy call to the newly-elected BGMEA President at the BGMEA office on 27 April (Tuesday).
At the meeting, reportedly, present were also Deputy Head of Mission of the European Union to Bangladesh Jeremy Opritesco, BGMEA Vice-President Md. Nasir Uddin and BGMEA’s Vice-President (Finance) Khandoker Rafiqul Islam.
Faruque Hassan also thanked Rensje Teerink for the friendly support of the EU for the betterment of Bangladesh garment industry.
