DGTR has launched an inquiry to prevent the dumping of jute goods from Bangladesh

According to the Indian Jute Mills Association (IJMA), a segment of Indian merchants buys the majority of jute goods from exempted mills, and such mills provide above their capacity by obtaining the production from other non-exempted mills in Bangladesh.
The Directorate General of Trade Remedies (DGTR) has launched an inquiry into the Sunset Review provision, which governs the import of jute goods from Bangladesh and Nepal. The directive was issued to protect the Indian jute industry from the rampant import of jute yarn, hessian textiles, and jute sacking bags.
