An attempt to make the Disabled Self Reliant.

In accordance with the assurance given by Shri N. D. Mahatre, Chairman of the Leela Mahatre Pratishthan,(LMP), Mumbai, Director General, ITAMMA, Mumbai and Winner of the Honorable Presidential Award for making Handloom for the Disabled, during the Awareness, Guidance and Motivational Seminar in Malegaon held on 02/09/2021, the Divyang Education and Welfare Society(DEWS), Malegaon, duly registered having around 1500 disabled members, is supposed to receive shortly a New Brand Specially Designed Handloom(see photo) to be run exclusively by the Disabled and Two sets of Crutches, specially designed to be converted into a Street Vendor Mini Shop(see photos), to enable the Disabled to sell the goods in the areas and at the time they wish.In addition to the Employment Crutches, LMP is also extending monetary support to run the business to the concerned beneficiaries.

Ziya Hakeem, the famous Industrialist of Malegaon, has provided ample space in his loom shed, in a prime location adjacent to Old Agra Road in Jafar Nagar, Free of Cost, for installation of the Handloom whereas the Crutches are made of excellent quality Stainless Steel by the Ekta Glass & Aluminum, Malegaon, as per the directions and guidance of Shri N. D. Mahatre.

Handkerchiefs, Lungies and Colored Sarees of Silk, Cotton and other Natural Fibers would be produced on the Handloom. Entire process will be carried out by the Disabled of Malegaon exclusively despite involving tremendous mental as well as physical skills. It will be Eco-friendly having Net Zero privilege as the entire process will be carried out manually without using Electricity at any stage.

These efforts are an attempt in the light of the Self Reliant as well as Net Zero Vision of the Honorable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji designed not only to make the Disabled Self Reliant but also to enable them to arrange for the daily bread of their family members through a Dignified and Respectful Business instead of Begging or Relying on other family members. We are sure that it will tremendously enhance their dignity as also confidence and will reverse the painful perceptions of the society while looking towards and dealing with the Disabled every where encapsulating an element of inferior treatment, negligence or disrespect.

Buyers are humbly requested to prefer buying from the said Disabled as it will be an indirect support for a Noble Cause without bothering to spend additionally.

Success of the trial is bound to completely change the scenario as the Disabled would turn Donors instead of Dependants and would be able to actively participate in National Development as good as the others besides setting an excellent example to follow. Their tarnished image would be disappeared and their Outlook would be Looked Out differently.

Inaugural Function of the Handloom and Distribution of the Crutches is scheduled on 12th December, 2021, in Malegaon, District Nashik wherein Shri N. D. Mahatre, Chairman LMP, Shri Vijay Anand Sharma(Hon.
