In a branding exercise to promote Noida and the upcoming Apparel Park near the proposed Jewar International Airport as ‘City of Apparel’, Yamuna Expressway CEO Arun Vir Singh inaugurated ‘City of Apparel’ signage near Jewar Toll Plaza.

Dhirendra Singh, BJP MLA; Lalit Thukral, President, Noida Apparel Export Cluster (NAEC) and few other leading apparel exporters were present at the event.

This branding structure is developed by the NAEC and depicts the status accorded to Gautam Budha Nagar by the Uttar Pradesh Government under the One District One Product (ODOP) scheme.

Dhirendra Singh said, “As part of the publicity about the apparel industry and the apparel park, it is good that the NAEC has installed a colourful and attractive illuminated branding structure. It is also for the beautification of the city.”

CEO Arun Veer Singh said, “Undoubtedly, it is a matter of pride for us to declare the district ‘City of Apparel’ by the State Government. Besides, the Government of India has also included Noida in the list of towns of ‘Export Excellence for Apparel’ which will make Noida eligible for various apparel export promotion schemes. These export-friendly initiatives will open new avenues for development and expansion of the apparel industry in Noida.”

It is important to mention here that the long-awaited Apparel Park is coming up in Sector 29 on the Yamuna Expressway and around 91 apparel manufacturers will establish their factories on 150 acres of land. The land allotment process is expected to be completed next month by YEIDA.

Lalit Thukral said that to promote training and jobs for local people, NAEC has proposed to set up apparel training centres in nearby villages with support from ATDC to provide training to local people. When trained, these people will be employed in production units in the Apparel Park.
