Azerkhalcha OJSC and Azeripek LLC signed a Memorandum of Understanding for Cooperation on July 8. The conference was attended by the directors of both agencies as well as other officials.
The meeting was opened by Emin Mammadov, Chairman of the Board of Azerkhalcha OJSC.
The “State Program for the Protection and Development of Carpet Art in the Republic of Azerbaijan for 2018-2022” was authorised by President Ilham Aliyev. Emin Mammadov discussed the art of Azerbaijani carpet weaving, the state’s attention and care in this field, fundamental changes, and goals for the near future in his address. One of the primary goals of the State Program is to sell our carpets to the international market.
A Memorandum of Understanding has been signed between Azerkhalcha OJSC and Azeripek LLC. The agreement seeks to foster dynamic ties in the development of local silkworm breeding, as well as to construct effective, mutually advantageous, and bilateral collaboration in areas of mutual interest. “Azerkhalcha” has not previously manufactured silk carpets, but will now employ the silk obtained from Azeripetk LLC to weave innovative and experimental carpets.
