Aditya Birla Fashion and Retail Limited (ABFRL), India-based pure-play fashion and lifestyle company, posted 8 per cent revenue growth to ₹8,743 crore in fiscal year 2020 ended on March 31, 2020, compared to the revenue of ₹8,118 crore in previous fiscal. However, revenue if the fourth quarter (Q4) were slightly down to ₹1,817 crore (Q4 FY19: ₹1,915 crore).
Revenue for the Madura segment in Q4 FY20 fell 7 per cent to ₹1,229 crore (₹1,320 crore). Sales of lifestyle brands were down 5 per cent during the quarter to ₹1,072 crore (₹1,132 crore).
Revenues of Pantaloon segment during the quarter dropped marginally 1 per cent to ₹626 crore.
For fiscal 2020 the company posted comparable profit before tax of ₹57 crore (FY19: ₹149 crore). The company also expanded its retail footprint by adding close to 400 stores across its brands during the fiscal year.As part of The Aditya Birla Group’s multi-pronged response to the Covid-19 crisis, the company reported that it has worked closely with government authorities to convert its manufacturing facilities for producing personal protective equipment (PPE) to meet the sudden large requirement of PPEs for frontline Covid warriors. As on date, the company has already supplied more than 500,000 PPEs; contributing to India’s fight against Covid-19.
