Euratex, which represents the European textiles and apparel sectors, is looking forward to the EU-US Summit on June 15th in Brussels. According to Euratex, governments should utilise all of their power to provide a fair playing field for the business throughout the world. According to the report, sustainable and circular textiles should become the standard, contributing to a cleaner planet while also providing high-quality jobs.
Euratex is urging the EU and the US to continue work on mutual recognition of standards and certification procedures, which would save businesses money while maintaining high safety standards. On both sides, custom procedures may be streamlined, and cooperative research, such as into smart fabrics, should be encouraged. Euratex also applauds recent progress in the Airbus-Boeing trade dispute, which has resulted in the provisional elimination of extra taxes on American and European products.
