Textile exports alone increased by 19.23 percent to $15.5 billion in 2020-21, up from $13 billion the previous year. Style Textile (Pvt) Ltd exports remained at $428.76 million in 202021, trailing Interloop Ltd at $331.54 million and Yunus Textile Mills Ltd at $311.92 million. “This is truly unique,” Aptma (North Zone) Chairman Abdul Rahim Nasir remarked.
He stated that, in light of the fast rise in textile exports as a result of increased investment, Aptma has chosen to accept all textile exports firms generating $40 million to $50 million per year and help them reach the $100 million mark. “If we are successful, our textile exports alone may go from $15.5 billion to $25 billion in the next couple of years,” he continued.
He stated that the textile sector’s exceptional exporter performance is a very favourable sign for the country’s economy.
