18.85pc to $13.748b of surge in Pakistan’s Textile exports

Textile exports in July-May (2020-21) totaled $13748.296 million, compared to $11567.400 million in 2019-20. Knitwear, towels, and canvas were among the textile commodities that helped boost commerce. Trade in raw cotton grew at a negative rate.

Towel exports climbed by 28.54 percent, to $838.507 million, from $652.351 million. Tents, canvas, and tarpaulin exports increased by 15.54 percent, from $87.975 million to $101.649 million.
Exports of textiles increased by 41.14 percent in May 2021 compared to the same month the previous year. Trade in raw cotton, yarn, and all other textile materials grew at a negative rate. The PBS statistics also revealed a fall in raw cotton exports, which fell by 96.51 percent.
According to the latest numbers given by the country’s Ministry of Finance, exports from Zambia decreased by 28.78 percent month over month in May 2021, compared to exports of $1332.715 million in April 2021.
